Amatuer Radio Public Service
SEFTN
The Southeast Florida Traffic Net (SEFTN) is an independent group of local volunteer Amateur Radio Operators, licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), located in South Florida who train throughout the year to help, when needed.
Emergency Services
Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) are FCC Licnesed Amateur Radio Operators who use their training, skills, and equipment to provide communications during natural disasters and emergencies, when called upon.
Other Services
Many Amateur Radio Operators serve (or have served) in The United States Military; employed (or retired) as police officers, firefighters, physicians, nurses, medics or volunteers with the Community Emergency Response Team known as CERT.
